Just want to include myself in welcoming you here.
Post as often or as little as you wish.
If you want to share your story we are all so sympathetic - unlike the organisation we left.

Were you like me, or was I different?
by JH in.
i remember going to meetings at the hall, and when the meeting was over, i wanted to leave right away, and not see a jw t'il the next meeting.. i thought of this thread because i see so many witnesses having lunch together after meetings and many seem to always want to be together even when the meetings are over.. i never did like this closed circle of jw's.

JH, I was the same as you. I wanted to leave as soon after the last 'amen' as possible.
I used to enjoy the feeling when I was at home with the tv on knowing that all the 'saddos' were still at the hall.
Mind you, if I'd given a good public talk I'd want to stay behind and lap up all the praise! -

How Will You Die at Armageddon?
by Nosferatu in.
before i found this website, i accepted the fact that i was going to be destroyed at armageddon.
but now that i know it's a big lie, i don't worry about that.. but just for fun, if you could choose your armageddonly death, how would you like to go?

Are you happier out of the org?
by dobbie inhi everyone i was just wondering if those of you that have left the org for whatever reason, have found your'e much happier than when you were in it?probably a daft question but i tried to talk to a friend about how i was feeling about a few things and why i don't go to meetings and she said would i really be any happier out than in?it just got me thinking about why i joined in the first place, because i was lonely and down, although i still am several years later it seems!have you found life better on the outside?did you feel a sense of freedom or was it really hard to adjust?when i try to explain what i find hard in the religion they can always say something back that then makes me think i was wrong in the first place and it is the truth after all - aagh!

Welcome to the board.
To say I'm happier out of the organisation is the biggest understatement EVER!
I was d'fed 4 years ago, my marriage broke up, all my former friends and my family no longer talk to me - yes I don't like that bit but it is their loss as much as it is mine.
When you realise that the organisation is not based on truth it is easier.
I am remarried now to a gorgeous woman. we have already had amazing times visiting outstanding places around the world.
I feel free, relaxed, at peace with myself and with no pressure to keep on doing more.
Having been brought up a JW I thought I would find it hard once I left but I haven't. The only regret I have is I wish I had done it YEARS ago.
Good luck! -

In sunny Essex it reached 34degrees. I have a colleague who lives in Glasgow and he said he was roasting!!
Roasting? He should live in England. Sometimes I think in mindset we are closer to the mediterranean than we are to our neighbours Scotland.
No offence, but I can't believe your not just slightly jealous of our glorioius weather. People pay loads for a holiday to the sun and we have it on our own doorstep.
P.S Went to Skye two years ago - beautiful place but less than half the temperature it was when we left the South East!
Great food and accomodation at the Three Chimneys in Colbost by the way!!! -

Hello lovelylil.
This year my wife (Bubble) and I had a vacation in New York - fantastic!!!
We are going to Egypt next month for a two week break in the sun, mind you it's well over 90 degrees here in Emgland at the moment and could hit 100 tomorrow.
We have booked a super luxury 5 star hotel (the George Cinq) in Paris for my wifes 40th Birthday but that is not until next february.
Oh and later in feb we are off to Prague for our anniversary.
